Today’s Tech Lingo: Temporary File
Today’s Tech Lingo is about words, or phrases, or terms use in computer world na kailangan mong matutunan at balang araw ay magagamit mo din sa iyong quest for more knowledge.
“Temporary File”
According sa Wikipedia:
Temporary file is a file that might be created by a program when it cannot allocate enough memory for its tasks or the program is working on data bigger than architecture’s address space. Modern operating systems employ virtual memory, however programs that use large amounts of data(ex. movie editing) may need to create temporary files.
Some programs create temporary files and then leave them behind – they do not delete them. This can happen because the program crashed or the developer of the program simply forgot to add the code needed to delete the temporary files after the program is done with them. The temporary files left behind by the programs accumulate over time and can take up a lot of disk space. A recent series of system utilities, called temporary file cleaners or disk cleaners, have appeared to address this issue.
Usual filename extensions for temporary files are .TMP
And for me to add:
Ang temporary file ay file na nakakasikip sa hard disk, panandalian sigurong kailangan pero hindi din dapat patagalin sa system. In short, dapat mo itong burahin kung kinakailangan.
Why did I choose this word? Well because I will discuss some other things related to this in the near future, God willing.
