My Mail Spells G

July 25, 2007 5 comments

Gmail is a Google-owned, web-based email service that includes over 2 gigabytes of storage (and growing).

I am continually using Gmail for 6 months now. Pero don’t get me wrong. This is not my only email around. I have a yahoomail and recently, I created a hotmail by microsoft. Para guluhin pa lalo ang isip niyo, I have 5 yahoomail. 1 gmail, 1 hotmail.

Bakit ang dami? Well huwag muna kayong magulat. There are reasons for all of those. And it was 5 years in the making. I didn’t create that in a day and then guluhin ang sarili ko.A single mail is enough. I am not even a constant checker ng aking inbox. I just check once or twice a day. The reason that I am starting to switch to gmail is that, napakarami niyang inooffer na options. When I join Gmail, I never knew that I will have my own Docs and Spreadsheets archive na ngayun ay lagi kong ginagamit. I can type a Document kahit walang Microsoft Office. Minsan, nautusan akong magprint ng isang document, they send it to my Gmail and sakto, walang Office ang laptop na gamit ko. But then I remember that Gmail has the capability to open documents in its own software. I just press the attached document and boom! I printed it right at the very page of the browser. It was a relief to have this kind of options when you needed it. Marami pang ibang added features ang may account sa Google and I will discuss it sa mga susunod kong post God willing. Una, I would like to have a single email. Pero I was compelled to create several yahoomail because of important reasons. Yet huwag niyo akong gagayahin, unless you have a reason that can justify such action.

At the time that I was about to abandon yahoomail. A problem exist. I was asked to pull out an important record sa hard disk ko na about a year ko nang hindi nabubuksan. I look for it and then it was not there sa folder na inaasahan kong napaglagyan ko. And then I remember that I have sent it to somebody a year ago. I then checked my sent mail button sa yahoomail, and it was there. Looking at me with a smile. I almost shouted sa tuwa dahil yahoomail saves my day. Una, I am just using it for free and I still have a yahoo messenger to mix with it. What would I lose? Twice a day, so apat na beses isang araw. No worries. I don’t usually open the 4 extra yahoomail that I have. It is only used when needed. And the reason that I have signed up for a hotmail is just to look for any good option it offers. Siguro brief lang ito to discuss, pero I would discuss more sa mga susunod pa.

Ayon nga sa kasabihan, enjoy what you have. Kung Yahoomail user ka, it’s fine. Kung Gmail user ka, don’t push people to be a Gmail user too. Kung Hotmail, I don’t have a problem with that. Kahit ano pang mail siguro basta it get’s the job done. Pero to help you out. Yahoomail, Gmail and Hotmail is the best that I know. Choose one here and make life easier for you.

I remember seeing a web-based mail na pogimail ang pangalan during mid 90’s kung hindi ako nagkakamali. Sorry sa creator pero I wouldn’t give anyone a serious business card with a pogimail account printed in it.

To end this, Gmail impresses me kung pano niya iblock ang mga spam. What is a spam?

E-mail spam, also known as bulk or junk e-mail is a subset of spam that involves sending nearly identical messages to numerous recipients by e-mail.

Yahoomail put it in a Spam Section pero most of the time, nakakapasok na din ito sa iyong mismong Inbox.

But sa Gmail, it’s like sitting with feet on the table kapag binubuksan mo ang mail mo. Malinis at walang maraming mga pangasar. Siguro, when time comes, I will only choose one. Pero not now. When the time comes, I’ll tell you.

Sa mga susunod kong post, I will show you how to use yahoomail, gmail, or hotmail with breeze. Anong mga options nila, and what are the do’s and dont’s. How can you maximize them and how not to be easily terrorized by others.

Until then, God bless.

See the real ME

To all readers of this blog…

Siguro it is time that I introduce myself. I was born in Baguio but at a young age, I grew up in Alabang, actually Ayala Alabang. I am a graduate of Business Management sa San Beda College. I am currently working in AOL(America Online) and Consumerist.com in a managerial position, both are US based company. I can say I am financially and emotionally stable. Single and searching for the right person. I am here in Manila for just a vacation to visit my grandma.

Why don’t we meet somewhere? Like sa harap ng Francois Girbaud sa Asia Mall and eat some dinner, then we can get to know each other and be friends?

Impressed?

Siguro kung isa kang normal na citizen ng Pilipinas, this resume is a WOW. Pero kung hindi ka impressed, I don’t care, may hahanga din sa status ko and I’m sure I’ll gonna find those…

Pero huwag ka munang mayabangan.

Why?

Because almost all of the descriptions are fake. Siguro to some extent may half truth. Coming up with such charismatic persona is easy by having a wild imagination, together with how I was brought up and some influenced ng environment. I can described myself online na hindi mo mapapansin ang deceit. And why? Well let me tell you…

First. I choose Baguio because it is my favorite place to visit sa Pilipinas. I have an aunt living in Ayala Alabang, and ginagawa naming bakasyunan ito nuong mga bata pa kami. I have memorized the whole place and hindi mo ako basta maliligaw. My brother graduated in management sa San Beda College. I studied there, only when I was in grade school pero halos nakabisado ko din ang mga establishments there. Pati mga artista na nagaral duon. Herbert Bautista even waved one time sa classroom namin because my teacher asked him too. And nakakasabay kong tumawid sa kalsada dati si Nino Mulach and looked at me ng matagal because I was crossing the street while looking back at him. I even remember seeing Aga Mulach in the quadrangle if my memory serves me right pero I was not sure kung nagaral siya duon or tumambay lang kasi it was only once. Regarding AOL, I have a colleague working there and the company is located in Subic. Consumerist.com is also an American based company din and the site is about business and finance. This is a high profile na deception, risky to the other person na maaaring usisain ako pero siguro I can manage. But I can make low profile pretense din. So with all these experiences, information, and knowledge. I can cook up a different ME, faster than a speeding train in Japan.

Well what are all these for?

Sa part na ito, I can say I have deceived you sa intro. So what’s the reason? Simple. There are many predators sa internet. Through chat and email or voice call or any tool for communication. Even forums, myspace, friendster, blogs, twitter, etc. Swindler, Pedophile and Perverts. You may see it, pero most results is you may not. Ang masama, he is out there to do you harm or damage. And ang mas matindi, the age are not an exception. They can manipulate almost any age. And mas lalo pang matindi, they get to see you even uninvited. They just wait for the right time, and then they appear suddenly on your screen and introduced himself/herself to you.

Ows?

Ok then try it, plunge yourself sa kumunoy, and risk your safety, pati na ng iyong loved ones and have yourself be destroyed by others. Not that I am discouraging you to use the net, but telling you to be aware on the vulnerability you will imposed on yourself kung hindi ka maingat.

Don’t easily give in sa mga makakameet mo online. Kahit 100 percent precise ang sinasabi nila sa sarili nila, you do not know their intention. Most of the time, it start in a chat, email, even online games, etc. Madalas lahat bida. And the thing is, they have many forms. Kung bata ka, they will be too. Kung adult ka, they are too. Or vice versa. And pag weak ka, they say “I care”. Galing ng mga gago ano? There are even famous people, celebrity and politician na at the peak of their career, nahuling may mga tinatagong dark personality dahil sa paggamit nila ng internet. Most of these people are unremorseful kahit nahuhuli na sila ng batas. And once they get out of jail, they just do the same thing, pero this time with more subtlety. But if they are uncaught, they get more frenzy in having more victims.

To end it, my intention is to give you goosebumps. Takutin kayo at paisipin. Siguro some would say na exagerrated ako, at mainis sa akin and pamalian ako. But I speak to those people na may prudence to see the intent of this message. If you are looking for new friends, fine. If you are looking for a partner, fine. Pero do not think that internet is your cloud 9. You may just be on a bait planted by evil people. So again, be cautious. Just remember, prevention is better than cure.

I hope nakatulong itong post sa iyong awareness. Until then, Godbless.
