I`m a PC

I must be honest to tell na maganda ang concept ng ads ng MAC laban sa Windows about sa kung ano ang mas maganda sa dalawa. Pinakita nito in a humurous way ang kakayahan ng MAC at kakayahan ng PC.

Maybe mas maganda, panoorin niyo ang mga sinasabi kong ads.

Pero with wll these ads, I am still a PC user. Undeniably, may magandang mga nilabas na options ang mac. Pero undeniably din, umiikot ang buong mundo ngayun sa pagpapatakbo na nagagawa ng PC. But still I am interested to get a MAC sa ilang panahong papadating. And so with Linux(Ubuntu) pero I would not be ashamed to be a PC user still.

Windows still dominate the world and Im sure on that.

Curtain Call for the 6th Stage

According to Wikipedia: A curtain call (walkdown, bow) occurs at the end of a performance when individuals return to the stage to be recognized by the audience for their performance.

Stage 6 is now closed

Boredom leads me to browse some video sites. Pumasyal ako sa Stage 6 na laging pinanonooran ng mga kaibigan ko. Unfortunately, na-shocked ako sa nabasa ko, it was closed. Of course I am for sure na Stage 6 was just any other business venture na from the start ay maganda ang concept. It stayed in the ring for a while but then wala na sila. Internet is free I could say for the user pero the sites put up here do need a big amount of money.

Bakit ko nasabi?

YouTube is the most popular sa mga video sites, pero alam niyo ba na ang YouTube ay gumagastos ng million dollars para imaintain lang ang bandwidth ng traffic every month? Kung papaano nila nasusustinehan ang napakalaking expenses ay sa advertisement malamang. Pero hindi.

Stage 6, Salamat anyway...

Hindi pa enough ang kita ng YouTube sa mga ads, para isustine nila ang gastos palabas. Pero dahil pagaari sila ng Google(the number one company ngayun sa USA) kaya probably, they have all the time to experiment na maging monetary ang site. Of course kailangang kumita ng site, to sustain their purpose. So competing Youtube gaya ng Stage 6 is such an enormous task.

But to the creator of Stage 6 (Divx). Thanks for all the time you spent sa net. I am one of the users, of your site and whatever reason there is kung bakit kayo nagsara. Thanks for the wild ride you gave us…

Hidden Smiles

When you’re using Yahoo Messenger, I know you’re aware of those cute smileys na puede mong isend sa iyong kausap. It’s what we called emoticons. Pero just in case, ooopsss. I am saying “just in case”. Just in case na hindi niyo alam ang mga hidden emoticons. Well I am glad to share this through my blog.

Docx. Cannot Open Tol!

Office 2007. Now with an x.

Office 2003…One of the my buddies. I have been used to working on Office 2003. But siempre di natin puedeng iignore na maglalabas ng bago ang Microsoft sa mga ilang taong padating. Hmmm ok lang kasi mabubuksan ko pa din naman diba ang mga files ko sa susunod na platform na ilalabas nilang version ng office?

Yan ang akala ko…

Then Office 2007 came. At first ok lang siya dahil nabubuksan ko ang mga dati ko nang mga word files sa kanya.

Ok here comes the problem…

When a colleague saved a document made in Word 2007. There came Barney. It was saved as .docx. And when I was opening it on my trusted 2003 Office, it didn’t open. And how do I resolve this? I talk to my colleague and ask her to convert it in a 2003 format which is .doc and send it to me again.

I still liked 2003 but 2007 just ain’t my type yet. Medyo mabagal and parang masyadong lollipop ang interface. Parang pinaganda yet pinakomplikado. I want everything simple. Sometimes pinapakomplikado ng ibang tao ang isang bagay na puede namang simple. Resist if you want I don’t care.

Pero pero pero… Microsoft suddenly released a solution. Siguro naasar din sila sa ginawa nila. You just need to install the “Compatibility Pack” by Microsoft and open .docx in 2003 with a breeze.

Archos 605 Wifi

I love my IPOD, it was a shiny black 80Gb(thanks po sa may gift sa akin).

I have it always on my pocket. Kahit sa CR, habang nagbibike, namamasyal, nagbibiyahe, almost anywhere.

But when I found out about Archos 605 Wifi. I bid goodbye muna sa aking IPOD. It was almost at the same price ng 6th Generation na IPOD 160Gb and I think this gadget will be of great use to me.
What are the things that catches my attention sa Archos?

Archos 605 Wifi

First, it is Archos 605 “WIFI”. Meaning you can use the internet through it. You can check your mail, you can browse youtube, chat, and browse news. Almost everything na ginagawa natin sa net. When your laptop is unavailable or you need a handy device to connect to the net. This will be a big help.

Where is the keyboard?

Well ang Archos does have a stylus, and of course it is a touch screen. May lumalabas na keyboard where you can press any characters that you may need.

Before, may 500Gb na hard disk ako na andun lahat ng files ko. My tasks in my job are all inside that disk. And what was unproductive is that nandun din ang mga collection ko ng mp3, movies, and pictures. Well anong masama if you may ask? Hmmm, to be honest, it is a distraction. Knowing na all your entertainment materials are just a few clicks away habang nagtatrabaho ka is a big hassle. Because sa madalas ay natetempt ka na once in a while na buksan. And eventually, forget everything and boom! Your job goes to the drain. And then you come back to your duty knowing na you have spend your time unwisely the whole night and your body tells you to rest.

But when I bought my Archos. I put all my movies, music and images inside it that it gave me a peace of mind while working. They are all there and I can keep it in my bag so even though paminsan minsan ay natetempt akong ilabas sa bag and manood, I still have my laptop monitor on with all my paperworks in front of me.

Archos 605 Wifi. Watch movies on it, listen to your music playlists, browse to your family pictures, take notes, check the news, check emails, chat, and more.

I even open it sometimes and just listen to the audio of my favorite movie that I want while doing my errands. And guess what? I put many informative documentaries in it and tutorials para lalo kong maboost ang aking brain while enjoying the process which is WATCHING…

Archos is a good buy, yet medyo mahal lang siya sa ngayun. But if this gadget can help you improve your life. Why not? It’s up to you to decide.

Goodbye Randy Pausch

Few months ago, napanood ko sa Google Video ang isa sa mga lecture ni Randy Pausch about Time Management. Before playing it, I was skeptic kung kapakipakinabang nga ang sasabihin niya sa kanyang pagtuturo regarding Time Management. I mean in a busy world na kinabubuhayan natin ngayun, who doesn’t want to learn to manage their time.

But I based my trust on the hundreds of thousands of views sa video niya (now it’s millions) and then I watched and what was really amazing kay Randy Pausch during the time na napanood ko ang lecture niya, he has 3 months to live. And yes this man is about to bade the world goodbye. Pero as I finished his lecture, this man lives his life everyday as if it is his last. And he’s enjoying every moment that he has.

I would suggest you watched his video that I embedded here and I guarantee that you’ll learn many things useful to improve your life…

Randy Pausch, 47, Carnegie Mellon University professor who died 25 July 2008 from complications of pancreatic cancer. Pausch died at his home in Chesapeake, Virginia. He was diagnosed with incurable pancreatic cancer in September 2006.
